A camp is not showing

A camp, sport or city is missing from a page, map, menu or the Camp Finder, or its Book Camp button is disabled.

Use this runbook when a camp that should be on sale does not appear on a city page, sport page, map or menu, or when its booking page shows a greyed-out Book Camp button.

Almost every case is a data setting in Shopify Admin. Work through the checks in order and stop when one fails.

Diagnose

1. Confirm where it is missing

Open each of these in a private window and note which ones show the camp:

  • the city page for the camp's venue;
  • the sport page;
  • the Get Started map;
  • the camp's booking page, opened from Shopify Admin with View on the product.

If the camp shows on some but not others, go to step 6.

2. Check the variant

In Shopify Admin, open the sport product and the camp's variant.

4. Check the venue and city

Open the Location entry chosen in Location Details.

On a city page, the camp shows only if the Location's City has the same city name as the page's City Metadata.

5. Check the page

Open the page under Online Store, Pages, then its metafields.

6. Check the specific place

Booking page onlyProduct template is not product, or the page redirects to the home page because it is a membership pass product

7. Check for a recent theme change

If the data is correct and several camps disappeared at the same time, a setting may have changed. In the theme editor, open Theme settings, ASC - Camp Finder, and confirm All Sports Collection is still camps.

A developer can check for recent shopify[bot] commits to config/settings_data.json or the page's template on theme main.

Repair

Correct the setting the diagnosis found and save. Changes to products, metafields and metaobjects show on the website straight away.

To show a camp for testing while it is out of season, use Expose For Testing. See Camps and locations.

Verify

  1. Reload the page in a new private window.
  2. Check the camp card shows the right dates, "N Days" label and price.
  3. Check the map pin, if the page has a map.
  4. Click through to the booking page and confirm Book Camp is enabled.

Escalate

If every check passes and the camp is still missing, ask a developer to open a city or sport page, run the following in the browser console, and search the output for the variant id:

window.theme.allCamps

A variant in that list has passed the site-wide checks, so the cause is in the page's own section or filters. A variant not in it has failed the SKU, In Season or collection checks.

Background is in Catalogue model.
